🎉 A colourful and active final for Latgolas Lizeika!

Our final event brought together young people from Kaunata and Eastern Latvia Technology Secondary School to look back at the journey and results of Latgolas Lizeika — but definitely not just by sitting and listening!

Young people took part in different hands-on workshops: they created their own “lizeika” (spoon) from Latgalian clay, prepared and tasted traditional asuškas, learned Latgalian dance steps, searched for Latgale’s lakes, poetry and other cultural treasures, and tested activities from our website.

It was especially nice to see participants recognising people and places they had discovered through the platform — including Sovvaļnīks, Aleksandrs Lubāns, Andrupene Farmstead and Kroma Kolns — while learning about some of our other project adventures through the presentation.

And for the finale — an interactive illusionist Edžus show, full of jokes, surprises and audience participation, which even brought the Latgolas Lizeika logo to life on stage! ✨

A perfect way to celebrate everything we have explored, created and learned together — and to finish the project with Latgale not only in our minds, but also in our hands, tastes, steps and hearts. 💛

🌿 Latgolas Lizeika goes further across Latgale!

This time our team visited Ezernieki Elementary School to share the story of our project and introduce young people to the Latgolas Lizeika website.

Ezernieki is located in the border area of Latgale and Latvia, where the Latgalian language and identity are less present in everyday life than in some other parts of the region. And that makes conversations about preserving the Latgalian language, culture and traditions especially meaningful here.

Seeing the situation ourselves made us understand even more clearly how important it is to preserve our heritage and keep it alive for future generations. 💛

♿🎲 MosaiCity meets inclusion expertise!

This time, our inclusive game was presented and tested at the Association of People with Disabilities and Their Friends “Apeirons”, together with young people from Apeirons.

The testing showed us once again how flexible MosaiCity can be — even when new players join the game step by step. There was plenty of fun, creative thinking and negotiation, with some very unexpected solutions proposed along the way! Despite the strong cooperative spirit among the Citizens, the Baddies managed to win this time. 😈

One of the most valuable pieces of feedback was that the most exciting and, at the same time, most challenging part was acting from another person’s profile — trying to understand and feel their needs from a different perspective.

Another great testing experience bringing inclusion, empathy and creativity around one table!

🌿 LadyLeader Stories continues in Daugavpils

In Daugavpils, Valentina, one of our LadyLeader graduates, organised a warm follow-up initiative for women of different ages who have experienced oncological illness and are currently undergoing treatment or are in remission.

The meeting combined creativity and meaningful conversations. While creating ceramic plates with natural materials, the women shared stories, reflected on their experiences, achievements and future wishes, and talked about leadership as something that can be found in everyday courage, choices, perseverance and support for others.

💜 A beautiful example of how LadyLeader Stories can create safe spaces for connection, reflection and discovering the leader within ourselves.

LadyLeader Stories is a KA2 Small-Scale Partnership project coordinated by Landsbyggdin lífi - Farsæld til framtíðar (Iceland) in a partnership with InterArt Foundation (Bulgaria) and Miromida (Latvia). The project aims to empower women in rural and disadvantaged areas by equipping them with leadership skills, storytelling techniques, and emotional intelligence tools to foster civic engagement, self-confidence, and active participation in their communities.

InGameGration Final Evaluation Meeting by Partners

🌍 Looking back at the InGameGration journey!

The partners from Latvia, Italy and Germany met for a final Zoom evaluation to look back at the project, share what was achieved and learned, and discuss what comes next.

Some of the main conclusions:

🤝 A strong and supportive international partnership was one of the biggest achievements.

🎲 Together, the partners created MosaiCity – an educational game bringing inclusion, intercultural learning and storytelling around one table.

💡 The project brought new experience in game-based learning, visual coaching, working with young migrants and educational game development.

🧩 Testing showed that good games need patience, flexibility, repeated testing and continuous improvement.

🌍 Different languages, cultures and working approaches were sometimes a challenge – but also one of the richest sources of learning.

🚀 MosaiCity’s journey continues, with further presentations and testing planned in schools, youth centres, NGOs and public events.

Cool to play, great to cooperate and learn together – and meaningful to work for inclusion and make a change! 💛

🏙️ MosaiCity can also be a cozy family game/ Riga

This time, MosaiCity was tested in Riga in a smaller, family-style setting. The game works well with fewer players too, creating more space to explore the characters, exchange perspectives, make decisions together — and simply enjoy some quality time around the table. 🎲💬

MosaiCity in Pļaviņas

🎲 MosaiCity has reached Pļaviņas Youth Centre “Ideja”!

The game was tested with young people in different age groups. The players quickly recognised some familiar Mafia-style elements and especially enjoyed creating their own characters. Once the game got going, it caught the attention of others too — two more young people spontaneously joined in!

Youth Workers Preparing for the WomanityLeap Training in Bulgaria

Beļģijā, Bulgārijā, Kiprā, Latvijā, Serbijā, un Spānijā mūsu projekta partneri pašlaik atlasa dalībniekus gaidāmajam starptautiskajam jaunatnes darbinieku apmācību kursam, kas notiks šī gada novembrī Sofijā, Bulgārijā.

Apmācību laikā jaunatnes darbinieki iegūs praktiskas zināšanas un pieredzi daudzpusējo kompetenču izmantošanā, lai atbalstītu jaunas sievietes savu stipro pušu atpazīšanā, pārliecības veidošanā un sagatavošanā izglītībai, nodarbinātībai un aktīvai līdzdalībai sabiedrībā.

The next step of the WomanityLEAP journey is getting closer!

Across Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Latvia, Serbia, and Spain, our project partners are currently selecting participants for the upcoming international training course for youth workers, taking place this November in Sofia, Bulgaria.

During the training, youth workers will gain practical knowledge and hands-on experience in using the Multiple Intelligence Framework to support young women in recognising their strengths, building confidence, and preparing for education, employment, and active participation in society.
