🎉 Latgolas Lizeika joined the Latgale Culture Festival during the Rēzekne City Festival! 💛

We invited visitors to test their knowledge by translating Latgalian words, explore our website, and share their feedback.

Here are our impressions:

🇱🇻 "Interesanta pieredze, bija patīkami tas, ka jaunieši bija ļoti atsaucīgi un labprāt palīdzēja mums. Sasniegts mērķis: aptaujāt un iepazīstināt cilvēkus ar mūsu mājaslapu."

🇬🇧 "It was an interesting experience. It was especially nice that the young people were very welcoming and happy to help us. Mission accomplished: we introduced people to our website and gathered their feedback."

"Latgolas Lizeika" is a European Solidarity Corps Project. Its main goal is to promote the preservation and popularization of the Latgalian language and culture among young people by using digital tools and an interactive learning platform. We aim to create an innovative and accessible way for young people to explore Latgalian culture, language, and traditions while simultaneously developing their digital and creative skills.

Climbing mountains and overcoming challenges to get closer to our dreams - in "Mind The Mountain" Erasmus+ youth exchange in Norway, together with Joetz International

Markuss:
“Thank you for the wonderful opportunity to explore the mountains of Norway, make new friends, and step outside my comfort zone. This project helped me better understand both myself and people from different cultures while developing new skills.”

Rūdis:
“From this project, I am taking away friendships, cultural experiences, and valuable lessons, such as being more open to others and stepping out of my comfort zone. During these seven days, I especially enjoyed that everything took place outdoors—even using the toilet and eating—which was a challenge for me. You not only visit another country but also meet complete strangers who slowly become your friends over the course of the week. That is what creates the best memories in Erasmus+ projects.”

“Through this project, I learned the skills necessary for a multi-day hike. I had the opportunity to put them into practice during a beautiful yet challenging two-day hike in the mountains of Norway.”

“During the project, I met people from different cultures, learned about the unique characteristics of the Norwegian mountains, gained practical hiking skills, and experienced unforgettable moments that will stay with me for a long time.”

MosaiCity playing at all times

Home Sweet City Training Course in Narva

Five days of exploring Narva and learning all about how to see own city as Home Sweet City.

Arturs: “The project allowed me to learn a lot about myself, about ways to work with young people, about how to get to know other cities, and, in particular, how to see my own city from a different perspective. I also managed to make new connections, which I hope will lead to fruitful collaborations.”

Anita: “The project was something new and unheard of for me - exactly the methods we learned! I will try them in my work with youth!”

Agnese: “For me, this was a very unusual project, due to the language and the context of us, the participants. And I think that's the essence of this project: we listened to and interacted with different people, places, and instruments, which gave us a very valuable experience that we would hardly have been able to gain anywhere else.”

Valentina: “The project was rich in diverse information about the possibilities of creating engaging walks. And it's great that the focus was on young people. Over the five days of the project, we were able to think more deeply about them and talk with them at length. I hope the result will be a product that will be relevant to them.

Thank you to the organizers!”

Marina: “A heartfelt thank you to the organizers for the opportunity to participate in the Home Sweet City project! Your contributions and ideas helped make this project meaningful and valuable. Thanks to our joint work, we have created positive changes and inspiration for the future. Thank you for your cooperation, enthusiasm, and time spent together!”

Olesja: “The project gave me the opportunity to see a new city through the eyes of locals who love it very much; I also learned how to plan a route and a tour, and I met many wonderful people.”

Valentins: “Sometimes you just want to disconnect from the ordinary and figure out what you need from life. That's what the "home sweet city" project became: through various master classes, conversations, and excursions, it was possible to simply recharge and start seeing ordinary things with a new perspective.”

Sweet City is a KA2 Small-Scale Partnership project coordinated by Multi Nutikas (Estonia) in a partnership with Miromida (Latvia). The project aims to strengthen the emotional connection of young people in the border cities of Estonia and Latvia – Narva and Daugavpils - with their hometowns and to foster their proactivity through creative exploration of the urban environment, self-presentation in public spaces, intercultural dialogue, and engagement in community life. At the same time, it expands the toolkit of youth workers by offering innovative methodologies and practical solutions to support youth initiatives, develop digital competences, and promote intercultural understanding.

MosaiCity 2nd Testing

🎲 Another successful playtesting session for our InGameGration board game "MosaiCity"!

This time, an improved version of the game was tested with young people and youth workers—and the discussions were even more lively than before! Building an inclusive city sparked passionate debates, creative ideas, and plenty of laughter.

The session brought another round of valuable insights:
🟢 Introducing a time limit for discussions would help keep the game flowing.
🟢 Players even suggested adding fines for breaking the rules or poor discipline, making the gameplay more dynamic and fair.
🟢 The testing also helped us better define the recommended minimum age for players.

With every playtest, the game becomes stronger. Most importantly, it is becoming increasingly clear that the game encourages communication, cooperation, critical thinking, and negotiation, while fostering empathy, intercultural understanding, and inclusion.

LadyLeader Generations is a KA2 Small-Scale Partnership project coordinated by Fundacja Pro Omnis (Poland) in a partnership with InterArt Foundation (Bulgaria) and Miromida (Latvia). The project aims to empower women across all generations, from young girls to seniors, by enhancing their leadership skills and encouraging active community involvement through innovative, non-formal education methods, fostering self-awareness, courage, and a balance between femininity and leadership. This will be achieved through gender leadership coaching by an improved LadyLeader study programme for women with a chance for follow-up, and a transformation board game.

1st InGameGration game testing in Latvia

🎲 The very first playtest of our InGameGration board game (working title: MosaiCity) has taken place in Latvia! 🇱🇻

Although still in its prototype stage, the game already proved to be engaging, thought-provoking, and a lot of fun. Players worked together to build an inclusive city, balancing different needs while trying to uncover the hidden "baddies" among them.

The testing gave us plenty of valuable insights for improvement:
🟢 In the case of a tie vote, a simple tie-breaker (coin toss or rock-paper-scissors) would keep the game moving.
🟢 Action cards could reward players with an extra vote instead of additional money.
🟢 Character profiles should include more cultural customs and traditions to strengthen the intercultural learning experience.
🟢 The city board needs clearer district boundaries.
🟢 And one thing became very clear—our city definitely needs two bridges across the river! 🌉🌉

This is exactly why prototyping matters. Every discussion, every suggestion, and every laugh helps us create a better game.
