Latgolas Lizeika at Kopums Festival in Rēzekne

When hundreds of young people meet in the heart of Latgale, it is a must to taste also from our Latgolas Lizeika!

At the Kopums Youth Festival in Rēzekne, Latgolas Lizeika had its biggest testing event so far. Throughout the day, we invited festival visitors to explore our website, complete interactive tasks, discover Latgalian words, and share their feedback.

Our team member Viktorija shared her impressions:

🇱🇻 "Pasākums bija ļoti foršs! Bija prieks redzēt jauniešus no visām Latvijas malām, negaidīts, bet patīkams moments bija arī dalībnieki no citām valstīm. Bija tiešām gandarījums vērot, ar kādu aizrautību viņi pētīja mūsu mājaslapu un izrādīja par to interesi. Pildot platformas “Latgolas Lizeika” uzdevumus, daudzi priecājās atklāt, ka viņiem jau ir pamatzināšanas latgaliešu valodā, kā arī bija cilvēki, kuri bija izbrīnīti un patīkami pārsteigti, uzzinot, ka šo mājaslapu esam veidojuši mēs paši – jaunieši, un šis viņiem radīja vēl lielāku interesi."

🇬🇧 "The event was truly amazing! It was great to meet young people from all over Latvia, and it was an unexpected but wonderful surprise to welcome participants from other countries as well. It was incredibly rewarding to see how enthusiastically they explored our website and showed genuine interest in it. While completing the activities on the Latgolas Lizeika platform, many were happy to discover that they already had some basic knowledge of the Latgalian language. Others were pleasantly surprised to learn that the website had been created by us – young people ourselves – which made them even more interested in the project."

"Latgolas Lizeika" is a European Solidarity Corps Project. Its main goal is to promote the preservation and popularization of the Latgalian language and culture among young people by using digital tools and an interactive learning platform. We aim to create an innovative and accessible way for young people to explore Latgalian culture, language, and traditions while simultaneously developing their digital and creative skills.
