3rd Expedition. This time Latgolas Lizeika went to Krāslava region to explore living Latgalian heritage. At Kroma Kolns we discovered the story behind its creation together with its founder Aleksandrs Lubāns and at Andrupene Farmstead, Evija Maļkeviča-Grundele guided us through an interactive workshop on seasonal traditions.
So, learned about the 8 (!) traditional seasonal cycles (gadskārtas) that shape the rhythm of the year in Latgale and tasted authentic Latgalian dishes like asuškas and kuģeļi.
Latgale is not just history. It’s alive. 💛
"Latgolas Lizeika" is a European Solidarity Corps Project. Its main goal is to promote the preservation and popularization of the Latgalian language and culture among young people by using digital tools and an interactive learning platform. We aim to create an innovative and accessible way for young people to explore Latgalian culture, language, and traditions while simultaneously developing their digital and creative skills.
