Our first expedition and team-building with Kaunata Secondary School students took us to a truly Latgalian place – Ludza Amatnieku centrs 🌿

We immersed ourselves in Latgalian language and history, tasted local cuisine with asuškas, learned to make traditional puzuri and discovered that Latgale originally grew from three ancient hillforts – Jersika, Tālava and Latigola. And a fun fact: in Latgalian tradition, the ideal future wife was clever, hardworking and joyful – a good singer 🎶

"Latgolas Lizeika"  is a European Solidarity Corps Project. Its main goal is to promote the preservation and popularization of the Latgalian language and culture among young people by using digital tools and an interactive learning platform. We aim to create an innovative and accessible way for young people to explore Latgalian culture, language, and traditions while simultaneously developing their digital and creative skills.
