Tanned + excited + more tolerant: Miromida’ s young people are back from Kultur Kiddos, Madeira!
The Kultur Kiddos Youth Exchange organized by Föreningen Framtidståget for French, Swedish, Spanish, Portuguese and Latvian young people on beautiful Madeira island aimedto explore and reflect on a variety of important themes, including culture, identity, migration and integration, and intercultural dialogue.
Miroslavs: “The "Kulturkiddos" project taught us to accept ourselves as we are and not give up on our path and uniqueness. We had a wonderful time on a beautiful island, one can only dream of such an experience, but we really experienced it.”
Anfisa: “The project made me realise how different people are and i learned a lot about other cultures and religions. This was an awesome opportunity, the views were stunning and i am so grateful that i was a part of it.”
Anna Marija: “This project taught me to be more open-minded, patient, and confident while working and living together with very different people for 10 days. I learned a lot about other cultures through the cultural evenings, shared dinners, and conversations with people from France, Portugal, Spain, and Sweden. It was also inspiring to experience Madeira’s beautiful nature and the warmth and family spirit of the Portuguese people.”
Rūdis: “From this project I’m taking friendships, culture, and the things I learned in this project like being more open to others and going out of comfort zone. In these 10 days you not only visit other country but also complete strangers that slowly in 10 days becomes your friends. And that is what makes the best memories in Erasmus+ projects.”
Rihards: “The Kultur Kiddos project focused on exploring the themes of culture and identity in an ever changing world and social environment, particularly at the backdrop of globalization and migration. Through active participation and organization of activities we learned how to facilitate cooperation and overcome our differences while working on common goals. While enjoying the beautiful landscape and culture of Madeira, we learned to communicate with others and express ourselves in a free, friendly environment.”
Raimonds: “Kultur Kiddos in Madeira brought together young people from different countries to share cultures, ideas and experiences through creative activities and teamwork. The project taught us to appreciate different cultures, respect each other’s identities and understand that our differences can actually bring people closer together. One of the nicest parts was being able to laugh together about our different habits, stereotypes and everyday things in a friendly and respectful way. It made everyone feel more comfortable, open and connected.”
Elena: “I really enjoyed my
Erasmus experience in Madeira. What surprised me the most was the people, they
were very friendly, understanding, and open-minded. Everyone was interested in
getting to know each other and was always ready to help if someone needed it. I
felt welcomed and comfortable there, which made the whole experience even
better. I also liked how kind and tolerant the people were. Everyone respected
different opinions, cultures, and personalities. It created a very positive and
warm atmosphere where nobody felt left out. During Erasmus, I met many new
people from different countries, learned more about other cultures, and
improved my communication skills. Another thing I liked about Madeira was the
beautiful nature and the calm environment. The island has amazing views,
mountains, and оcеan, which made every day feel special. Erasmus gave me not
only unforgettable memories but also more confidence and independence. It was
an experience that I will always remember.”
